The Tracadero station is located in west Paris' 16e. It serves metro lines 6 and 9 in fare zone 1.
The station is named after the Place de la Tracadero. The avenue's name, in turn, refers to the Battle of Tracadero when the fort at Spain's Bay of Cadiz was captured by French troops in 1823.
Trocadero station is located in the northern most part of 16e by Avenue Foch, Paris' widest roadway. The area is known as one of the wealthiest in Paris and has some of the priciest real estate in its residential sections.
Not far from the station are several places of interest including the giant Bois de Boulogne Park, Cimetiere de Passy, and many museums including Cinema, Guimet, d'Ennery, and Marmottan-Monet.
