The Republique station serves a handful of metro lines including 3, 5, 8, 9, and 11. It also has nearly a dozen access points along rue du Faubourg du Temple, rue Rene Boulanger, blvd Saint Marin, blvd Voltaire, Square de la Fontaine and Place de la Republique. The station is in the 3e and fare zone 1.

Its title is derived from the square with the same name that pays homage to all of the French Republics.

The area has several places of interest like the Chateau-d'Eau fountain, gate of the Temple, and the house of the French Republican Guard.
