Porte de Vincennes is sited in south eastern Paris on the edge of the city line. It has access points along course de Vincennes, serves Metro Line 1 and is in fare zone 1.
Porte de Vincennes was originally the opening station of Line 1 when it was first established in 1900. However, in 1934's expansion project the line connected even further out to Chateau de Vincennes.
It is nearby the Pere Lachaise cemetery, where many famous people were laid to rest including Frederic Chopin, Eugene Delacroix, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, and countless others. Another attraction is the lovely white stone Chateau de Vincennes that was erected in the 12th century as a hunting lodge and was large expanded in the following years.
