ABOUT MADELEINE

The Madeleine station is located in western Paris' 8e. It serves metro lines 8, 12 and 14 in fare zone 1.

Madeleine is named after the lovely Eglise de la Madeleine. The chapel of an ancient 6th century commune that used to be sited in the area was dedicated to the Saint in the 18th century.

The closest place of interest is the Eglise de la Madeleine. Some of the world's most notable weddings and funerals are held here including those of Frederic Chopin, Saint Saens, and Josephine Baker.

The station is also near the Place de la Concorde and Place Vendome.
