Located in 10e, Gare du Nord serves metro lines 4 and 5 as well as RER connections on lines B, D and E. It has access portals along boulevard Denain, rue de Dunkerque, and Gare du Nord. The station is in fare zone 1.
The station originally opened in 1908, but was replaced in 1942 due to an extension to Eglise de Pantin, which is still a close neighbor. It is said to be one of the busiest stations on both the metro and rail lines.
Gare du Nord is in a governmental district and includes many notable administrative squares and buildings like place de la Republique. There are also some lovely spots along the canal Saint Martin nearby.
