The Gare d'Austerlitz station is located in southern Paris' 13e. It serves metro lines 5 and 10 as well as RER C. It has a trio of portals on boulevard de l'Hopital.
The station is one of only a few that features an open air design. It is also known for the section of rail when the train makes a curve and then drops called le toboggan.
The area surrounding the station is manly residential and has many high rise apartments and the Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand and Chinatown as placess of interest.
However, the 13e near the Gare d'Austerlitz station is also beginning to flourish as a new futuristic business district called Paris Rive Gauche that plans on being completed in roughly 10 years. There are also many business oriented hotels here as well.
