About Edgar Quinet Metro Station, Paris

The Edgar Quinet station serves metro line 6 in fare zone 1. It is situated in southern Paris' 14e.
The station's name is derived from Edgar Quinet, a historian who wrote on Germany and Christianity among other subjects. He was also a professor at the College of France, where he was later suspended because of his attacks on the Catholic Church. He was twice a member of the National Assembly.
The Edgar Quinet station is located on the Left Bank which contains the lovely Montparnasse district know for its artists and Paris' tallest building Tour Montparnasse. The Catacombs are also located in 14e.
The 14e is also home to the Cite Internationale Universitie de Paris and Stade Charlety, which serve as the biggest economical businesses in the area.
