The Campo Formio station is located in southern Paris' 13e. It has a single access point at boulevard de l'Hopital and serves metro line 5 in fare zone 1.
The name Campo Formio refers to the Treaty of Campo Formio in 1797 that was drawn up between France and Austria. Later in its life, the station was damaged by German bombers in World War I.
The area surrounding the station is manly residential and has many high rise apartments and the Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand and Chinatown as places of interest.
However, the 13e near Camp Formio station is also beginning to flourish as a new futuristic business district called Paris Rive Gauche that plans on being completed in roughly 10 years. There are also many business oriented hotels here as well.
