The final metro stop on Gran Vía, Santo Domingo is the closest to many of the stage shows and nightclubs in the area, perfect for any lovers of Spanish theatre or dance. The shops of Gran Vía are all within easy walking distance, or you can head west to the Plaza de España. At night, this part of Gran Vía is home to some of the more expensive clubs such as Larios, but if you prefer something a little more authentic, head up Calle de San Bernardo to the Malasaña area, the home of Madrid’s most beloved nightspots.
There are dozens of hostels and affordable hotels on this part of Gran Vía, or try the glamorous Vincci Vía 66 with its rooftop terrace, offering fantastic views over the city.
