Nuevos Ministerios is situated in the north of the city, at the heart of Chamartín’s financial district. It is one of Madrid’s largest stations, with connections to three lines, several bus routes and the Cercanías commuter rail network. As the terminus for Line 8, most visitors travelling from the airport will change here at some point; the station is roughly a twenty-minute journey away. The station building itself is considered one of the most impressive in Madrid, with artwork of the city adorning the walls.
The area is home to a number of office buildings and convention centres, and is also close to the famous Paseo de la Castellana and the Bernabeu Stadium. The station itself is also right next door to the flagship store of Spain's major department store chain, El Corte Inglés. If you fancy a taste of luxury here, try staying at one of the many five-star hotels that line the Castellana, including the Hesperia Madrid, the Occidental Miguel Angel & Urban Spa, and the Eurostars Madrid Tower, which offers fantastic views of the city.
