Noviciado has two exits on Calle de San Bernardo, a street which marks the edge of the popular Malasaña district of the city. This is the place to go for the most characteristic madrileño nights out, the birthplace of Madrid’s famous movida nightlife which sprang up in the 80s. The area between here and Tribunal station on Calle de Fuencarral is filled with bars, restaurants and plazas which attract hundreds of people every night. See if you can match the stamina of the locals by partying till six in the morning, or just relax with a cocktail and some good conversation in one of the quieter bars.
The station has an underground interchange with Plaza de España, and is within easy walking distance of attractions such as the Templo de Debod and Gran Vía, good for travellers who want something lively to occupy themselves with no matter what the hour. For partygoers on a budget, the new Duermo hostel has received excellent reviews, or there is a wide selection of other affordable hostels and apartments nearby.
