Close to the Manzanares River, Legazpi lies in the south of Madrid, fairly removed from the centre of the city. However, a journey by metro to the centre only takes around 15 minutes, without needing to change lines. The station is situated close to one of Madrid’s most interesting and avant-garde cultural spaces: El Matadero de Madrid, a former meat market now used for concerts, art shows, workshops and much more. It is also within walking distance of the spacious Parque de Enrique Tierno Galván, one of Madrid’s lesser known parks, and the city’s impressive Imax cinema. For accommodation, the Gran Legazpi is situated right next to the station and has received good reviews.
